Your Child, Cigarette Smoking and Asthma Attacks?

Doesn’t it just gripe your last nerve when you see a parent of a small child puffing away on a cigarette claiming they have no idea why Little Johnny has so many asthma attacks?

You stand and listen to this worldly woman until you just want to hit her over the head with one of the baseball bats strewn about the ball field as she continues over and over again about how concerned she is about Johnny and his frequent attacks.

And believe it or not, and this is going to come as a shock to you, they are increasing as he gets older!

Some parents just get all of the brains. No wonder there are so many idiots walking around in certain geographic locations. You aren’t about to put your two cents in as this lady continues on her ‘fight against asthma’ routine until she blows her smoke right in your face. That’s when you quickly fly off the handle and explain to this kind, dear woman that if she wants to save the world and its children from asthma she needs to start by not blowing cigarette smoke into the face of a severely asthmatic woman or her severely asthmatic children. She missed the point.

Children who suffer from asthma are likely to suffer from asthma all of their young lives as long as they live with a smoker. Sure, the sufferer can make adjustments but the fact remains they can’t breathe because they live with a smoker. THEY CAN NOT BREATHE BECAUSE THEY LIVE WITH A SMOKER. This is something that needs to be addressed as often as possible by people who are determined to take no blame in the asthma attacks their own children suffer.

You’ll hear a mom or dad who smokes defend themselves against accusations when they should just snuff out their cigarettes. Instead, they seem to believe they share no blame in a child’s asthma as long as they smoke outside the house or as long as they smoke in the car with the windows rolled down. It is just amazing to some how parents can call themselves parents as they watch their young son or daughter grasp for breath when the smoke is nearby.

One thing parents must not fully understand is the fact that the smoke lingers in the upholstery of the car, the smoke lingers in the clothing of the smoker and the smoke lingers on the skin and in the hair of the smoker ready to give bear hugs to their asthmatic child. It just makes no sense why a parent with an asthmatic child would smoke. Do they think more of their own cigarettes than their own children? It’s nuts that a parent wouldn’t snuff the life out of the cigarette. Instead, it appears, they are going to snuff the life out of their own child.

Children with asthma have very tough attacks especially if they are active in sports and have a lot of activities where they run a lot. This can cause the onset of more attacks. If a child has asthma long with severe allergies then every time an adult takes a puff around the child, they might as well be saying they love their smoking habit and like the child but not enough to give up the love affair they hold dear with the pack of Marlboro Lights Cigarettes. It’s so sad when you think of it like it really is. Asthma is a real problem and it hurts to have asthma and it hurts children when their parents don’t think enough of them to stop smoking.

If you want to take it one step further, if a parent smokes around a child with asthma, then they are committing a form of child abuse any way you slice it. Now there’s a hard dose of reality and you may not like it but it is the truth. Asthma and children coupled with adults who are too self-centered to throw away their cigarettes are indeed very
self-centered and that’s all there is to it.

Children who suffer from asthma often recognize the triggers which bring on the attacks but they won’t tell their parents not to smoke and they won’t tell them they can’t breathe because of them. However, this article is for all the parents in the world today who needed to hear something straight about smoking and asthma. It doesn’t mix and sometimes the attacks it triggers in children can be fatal or at least extremely damaging. Now, how’s that for truth? Are you ready to light up again? Here’s a thought, wait until you have bronchitis or walking pneumonia and then light up a cigarette. Better yet, light up six or seven, you deserve to inhale!
